Apple increases prices across the board

Apple today increased prices on Macs, iPads, and the Apple TV. The new pricing appears to reflect the amount of RAM the devices have, for example the Neo got a price hike of $100, the Air of $200, and the M3 Ultra Studio a whopping $1300. A 16" M5 Max MBP with 48GB of RAM is now $5000 (yikes — it was $4399 yesterday). Overall, it appears that RAM upgrade pricing has doubled.

Interestingly enough, the iPhone prices seem unaffected so far.
 
Prices at 3rd party retailers still reflect old prices at the ones I checked, unsure for how long those will last.

They possibly have more clout buying phone memory, due to volume.

Should be the same memory as the Neo, I imagine they want to keep the iPhone prices as steady as they can given the salience of the product and the volume - Macs and iPads are already the higher margin, lower volume product lines. Doesn't bode well for the next generation of iPhones though.

I was impressed they kept the M5 price increases to what they did at launch, I guess that couldn't last.
 
I see this as an even bigger red alert to the middle class than eggs or gas, on par with the price of Disney parks. They may seem like luxury items/experiences to some but they are relatively low on the spectrum of luxury and who could participate. Save a little more or longer and it's possible. Now it's just getting to the point of forget about it when you have to factor in the inflation on literally everything else.

It's their most popular product and it's just a couple of months away from being updated to a new model anyway. I bet they'll increase the price with the new models in September.
