That does take me back. Virtually all of the dairy farms had several of those harvestore silos to store their silage. By the time I was in my teens, most had evolved into very large farms indeed - most were several hundred acres, with hundreds of heads of holstein cattle to meet their dairy quotas.

Absolutely MASSIVE money in dairy (at least back then) - these where the "haves" of the small village that my grandparents cattle and pig farm was a few miles outside of. All of their kids had big dual-reared diesel 4x4's when they turned 16. . They were fun kids to hang around with. Always had all of the toys. (4 wheelers, dirt bikes and snowmobiles).
