Using Google less and less because I know anything I type in will turn into ads. So far this is not the case for ChatGPT or Claude and for quick basic searches I've just been using DuckDuckGo.

That and the fact that you get directed to gemini anyway.... most of the research I do now is either via GPT/Claude or local LLM hooked up to search.

The LLM can sort through the search engine results trash for me....

What's possibly going to make it even more infuriating is this plant becoming completely unnecessary from general growing anger and blocking of data centers to those at the top starting to admit they over promised and overestimated demand and need as they dial back spending.

Related to this I know of local long time established businesses that closed after decades over redevelopment plans of the location they are in. Then something changes in the economy and the only thing that changed in those locations is getting reclaimed by nature after being abandoned. To add insult to injury these businesses just ceased to exist, didn't open in a new location because alternative property prices made it cost prohibitive.
