Have you seen/liked the original 1961 movie with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum as the heavy? It’s worthy and a good historical reference for the origins of the story.

Haven't seen the original but I vaguely remember the Robert De Niro remake being pretty good.

Haven't finished it yet, but Netflix already announced it won't be renewed for a second season which is kind of odd this soon after release. It's basically Stranger Things with/for old people.
Did you ever end up finishing it? I personally found it to be an excellent show all the way through, best thing I've seen them put out in a long time. 10 out of 10 from me.

Not yet, for whatever reason I find it hard to finish a season or series even if I like the show. There’s a lot of shows that you could say are great but are also hard watching. Breaking Bad comes to mind. You have to really be in a certain mind frame to watch. On a related note I think the new season of House of the Dragon is on.

Reacher Season 4 is set to debut on August 12 with 3 episodes, then one a week until the run ends on September 16. Then Amazon will release all 8 episodes of Neagley, which is a spinoff based on, well Neagley. Wonder if Reacher will make an appearance.

I would have loved to link a trailer, but I can't seem to find one. Several youtube videos insist they are the Official Trailer, but they are just voice narration about the new season over old clips.

BTW, this season is based on book 13, Gone Tomorrow.

I thought season 1 was the best of the three so far: the chemistry with Roscoe was so good. But I’m looking forward to this one.

Neagley seems promising - I like the character.

Anyone else watching House of Dragon? It started out strong but the last couple of episodes are basically awful, we're considering not finishing the season it's so bad.

Haven't started watching it yet. Will get to it, maybe. It might be one of those situations where its best to start a series once it's all finished. I didn't start watching Succession until it was completed and glad I did. There's just too many story lines and plot points you have to try to remember or get invested in to have to wait a year or more for it to continue. I'm feeling the same about Silo and Fallout. Good series but when they take a season break the more I find I care less. I think a single season series is the sweet spot. Spinoffs of that format can be good too. You might like the concept or writing but you generally don't have to remember anything from the previous seasons to move things along.
