Apple released a beautiful and simple video showing photography of human actors and TV/movie crew members. This comes after Apple purportedly signed a deal for a major fantasy series, giving full creative control to Brandon Sanderson. In a time where companies like Netflix are constantly pumping out content 24/7 with the explicit goal of "restating plot points 3 or 4 times," because no one is actually watching the content, only scrolling social media, and giving up creativity to diffusion based machine learning algorithms; Apple TV stands out as the only and best place for invigorating, thought provoking, and beautiful human creativity.

This comes after 2 other videos Apple created showing human creativity and power.

(My favorite, even though I like all of them):

I'm not referring to anyone in particular here, but in general and certainly MacRumors and others. For as much protestation people have about "AI," its use, and its use in creative media, there seems to be little -- very little -- attention paid to when companies deliberately and intentionally avoid using transformer and diffusion based algorithms to create things, especially media.

On MacRumors specifically, there are six comments. There aren't even enough comments to transition from spelling a number to writing it out numerically. Six. And yet, if Apple had switched to using transformer/diffusion based algorithms to create media and shut out humanity, then people would be up in arms everywhere, including here.

I think this is a time to reflect on what it means to truly be upset, and what it means to communicate when something goes well and when something really doesn't. This fundamental asymmetry I've seen on here and social media as a whole as it pertains to Apple, and "AI" generally leads to mass confusion about what people truly care about. Are people really upset about "AI" generated media, or are they only saying they are because they feel that's what they're supposed to do?

I am not a fan of chatbots, or "AI" photos/videos, despite what some people here have said to me. I tried to learn what everything regarding this is all about, and how it pertains to future Apple features and products, because I am very excited for things like Siri. But I also recognize that we need to be supportive. We can't simply just complain that Apple is "using AI," and then when they make a conscious and deliberate effort to not, then say nothing in support and recognition.

It is time to reflect on what you actually care about.

I don't need or even want responses; I'm simply writing what I see on this topic. I only hope it makes you think. Thanks for reading.
