Apple unveils ridiculously-priced sock-on-a-rope thing

Interesting... My wife crocheted a couple of concept "iPhone purses" last summer to see if there was any interest in them. She got a lot of oohs and aahs, but probably not enough to bang them out for craft fairs.

Doesn't make that the iPhone easier to steal with a drive-by?
I believe that was a common tactic in Italy to steal handbags.

Oh wait, nerds don’t understand the fashion industry? Color me shocked.
I've recently been thrown into this as a photographer shooting many fashion and interior design events and I can say without question I 100% do not understand this industry and would never want to.

This is what they've been telling all of us that prefer a smaller form factor. You don't need a pro featured phone that comfortably fits in your pocket. You just need a murse to carry it around in!!!

I still say that their iPhad should come out with tip-out corners so it can double as a coffee table.

The good thing is....if the lemmings all take up the iPhone murse, then they're no longer restricted by the size of people's pockets....everyone willl be walking around with iPads in speaker phone mode before you know it!!! *sigh*

Reminds me of the Apple Cloth. :ROFLMAO:

I was thinking exactly that when I saw the most stupid and expensive thing Apple could come up with!

The demographic where it might appeal, is a group who already has this "problem" solved by way of known brands (Gucci, Lululemon, etc.) People who are into fashion, already have a wristlet, a shoulder strap pouch carrier, this is a superfluous accessory, it doesn't make a ton of sense. My wife didn't quite get it either, not only is the dialed into fashion personally, she been directly involved in the industry in a business capacity. Our daughter, 17, was equally baffled, being the child of my wife, she's probably as up to date on trends and style as anyone.

Thank you all for repeatedly proving my point.
You're right - I've never understood why people would parade around in something that's hideous. I think, for the most part, Haute Couture appeals to a very niche market that have over-inflated opinions of their own worth and status.

So, yes, it appears we don't understand. :)

To be fair about the apple cloth gouge... All Professional sports teams and universities take low end merchandise like a $12 compact umbrella, throw their logo on it, and upcharge it another $50.

It seems , if it’s not a commercial tactic, that the iPhone pockets are almost completely sold out in US already 😵‍💫
