Block entire area codes on iPhone

For those of us who constantly get spam calls from the same area code where there's no other reason to receive a call. Not sure if this works because I just found out about it, but create a contact, put just the area code as the phone number. Save contact and then choose block caller. I'm sure at some point I'll probably have every area code in New York and Florida blocked.
