It does make one wonder what could be hiding in old data. Revisiting the results from the Galileo mission found evidence of water plumes on Europa.


Although, my favorite are the disappearing stars. Comparing old photographic plates from the 1950s to more modern images shows that about 100 stars appear to have vanished without any obvious explanation.


While these may simply be a result of flaring activity, there's always the possibility of more exotic phenomenon, such as failed supernovas.
