Sometimes Google picks up these thread titles and I wanted to throw in my support. Canada represents the best of what we could hope for here in America with their democratic system, universal healthcare, etc. They do not deserve all the aggression Donald Trump has toward them and most Americans stand with Canada.

Canadian travelers decided to fight back against an announcement made by the 47th President of the United States on Saturday to impose a 25% tariff on most imported goods from their country, by canceling their vacation trips to the United States in protest.

The travel boycott, in addition to other boycotts raised by Canadians frustrated with the executive order that not only imposes tariffs on Canadian goods but also goods from Mexico and China, is meant to hurt the United States where it counts the most: their tourism economy.

I had kicked off my Nexus (Trusted Traveler Program) renewal before this Tariff nonsense started. They're good for 5 years. Arrived in the mail on Monday. :(. Maybe I'll be able to use the last year of it? (we'll see what's left after Trump and Musk are through making more of a dumpster fire than any of us thought possible). :(

...and on the "Gulf of 'merica" topic - at least in Canada, Apple hasn't reflected the insanity. Google Maps shows Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America) - wish they'd add "just kidding" after that :D

Maybe on the 5th year we'll be back to normal..who knows, maybe in 2026 if something good happens. 🤞

For now , but they plan to spread it around the world.

"According to Bloomberg, Apple is rolling out the Maps change in the United States today, so the name should shift for most U.S. users in the near future. Apple plans to change the name for all users globally in the future."

Oh, it would be pretty amazing, we've love Canada, we've been a few times, Montreal around Xmas, etc.

And I know that looked like just a goof, but I am dead serious :)

We have the means, the motivation and a 16 year old daughter that we're not going to leave in a place that turns into the Handmaid's Tale.
