Turns out Musk and Trump didn't want any traces of the history they've erased so they took it all away from everyone. It was one of the only resources you can download older content (like TV shows) that aren't available anywhere else.

Is there anything we can't just leave the fuck alone from these assholes? Not talking politics, just asking for common decency from insecure billionaires, something we're sorely lacking right now.

It appears to just be a temporary issue? Do you have information that it is gone for good?

Update: looks like it’s related to a power outage in SF?

Right, that was my initial thought and then I dug a little.

I do believe there was a torrent available for this at some point? I thought i remember seeing it somewhere in case this happened…

website says temporary, neither twitter, blue sky or mastodon indicate anything otherwise.

It's been cut, from my link above
And now, the Trump administration is exacting revenge. The San Francisco Standard reports that Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency, which has spearheaded a highly destructive and ill-conceived gutting of government agency budgets, is now targeting federal grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Among them? One funding the Internet Archive, a nonprofit founded in 1996 with the aim of providing free access to digitized media, including websites, software, music, and print materials.

Fortunately, it wasn't taken down. The recent outage wasn't due to the funding cuts, which took place several months ago.

While I do think the Internet Archive provides a important service in archiving materials that politicians are trying to make disappear, I'm definitely NOT a fan of how the "archivists" have —without permission — scanned books published by my company that are still in print. Copyright theft is copyright theft, regardless of who is doing it.

What explains why they're down (inactive) then?

it was up when I checked a few minutes ago. Folks on reddit seem to agree it was due to a power outage situation in SF.
Thanks, I just saw they were down and Musk was the first thing that came up when I looked. Great to know, happy day as I look for old Hee Haw episodes!
