To keep the plan I have with a 3500.00 deductible, it is almost 350% higher. Going to one about 50.00 above what I have now gives me a 6000 to 9000 deductible. Everything else on the plan would be a fair amount more, too.

I'm already working in retirement but we don't think it'll be enough to cover such a huge monthly increase in our insurance so my wife is considering going back to work as well.

It's a bummer but until we get a change in government regular people will pay the biggest price.

Okay, I admit that I have had it too good with a "Cadillac" Medical Plan sponsored by work. It is open enrollment season, where I usually just adjust minor things; however, due to the original post, I took a closer look. My deductible is going up and additional $138.50 per month, but to make matters worse, co-pays are increasing significantly as well. PCP stays at $25 per visit, but any other doctor visits, i.e., dermatologist, psychologist, etc. It is going up to $40 co-pay per visit.

On top of that, prescriptions co-pays are increasing from $25 to $45 for generic, and my wife is taking a specialty drug, which is going from $30 to $60, and GLP-1s are going from $30 to $150. With GLP-1s you also have to sign up for a Diet Coach service to monitor and keep you "accountable" and have a limit of 2 years. So much for wanting to keep the workforce healthy.

Kaiser just increased our payment by $1000 a month. We are looking at cheaper plans with much higher copays. Also fuck both Democrats for allowing it and Republicans for applauding it. 🖕

I’m still pissed those a-holes put me into collections on a $35 bill two years after I switched jobs and dropped Kaiser. When I called, they admitted they never even sent me the supposedly unpaid bill.

I'm just wondering about the mandate and whether or not I can just opt out and pay for healthcare as needed. In the last several years all we've done is shell out money to these greedy piece of shit corporations with barely anything in return.

If something major happens you're screwed I guess but we should not be forced into it.

We should have passed single payer when we had the chance.

We are on a fixed income but the drone work has been helping us along, I mean we have a comfortable lifestyle but it's carefully controlled. Costs for everything has gone up significantly over the last year and we're just not prepared for it. That's what I get for not being a millionaire though so that's on me.

since you live here, you actually need to be a billionaire with a “b.” Millionaires can’t afford beef and rent.
