To keep the plan I have with a 3500.00 deductible, it is almost 350% higher. Going to one about 50.00 above what I have now gives me a 6000 to 9000 deductible. Everything else on the plan would be a fair amount more, too.

I'm already working in retirement but we don't think it'll be enough to cover such a huge monthly increase in our insurance so my wife is considering going back to work as well.

It's a bummer but until we get a change in government regular people will pay the biggest price.

Okay, I admit that I have had it too good with a "Cadillac" Medical Plan sponsored by work. It is open enrollment season, where I usually just adjust minor things; however, due to the original post, I took a closer look. My deductible is going up and additional $138.50 per month, but to make matters worse, co-pays are increasing significantly as well. PCP stays at $25 per visit, but any other doctor visits, i.e., dermatologist, psychologist, etc. It is going up to $40 co-pay per visit.

On top of that, prescriptions co-pays are increasing from $25 to $45 for generic, and my wife is taking a specialty drug, which is going from $30 to $60, and GLP-1s are going from $30 to $150. With GLP-1s you also have to sign up for a Diet Coach service to monitor and keep you "accountable" and have a limit of 2 years. So much for wanting to keep the workforce healthy.
