When Georgia recently changed its voting laws, there was an uproar about how it would affect urban and suburban voters. The GOP lawmakers insisted it was all about security. Well, we now have some data, and there’s no question: the law makes it harder for urban voters and easier for rural voters. The “1 ballot box per county” is super convenient for those in small counties. It made the trip to drop off a ballot in more populous counties an hour-long drive round trip, and recall that many folks in cities don’t even have cars.
