Interesting question, will have to check some word list stats before making an educated guess. As for an uneducated guess: Five letters is probably the sweet spot.What I do know is that the swedish clone of Wordle I am playing has words with five letters Monday-Friday and words with six letters Saturday-Sunday.Switching to six slots is a bit of a hassle mentally, but usually easier to solve anyway thanks to the extra slot.Five slots on the other hand feels a bit more challenging (or even unfair) compared to Wordle. Too many words with similar patterns… My results on Wordle and the swedish clone both look like bell curves, with the expected number of guesses slightly lower for Wordle (!).
