So I am not completely off the bandwagon yet... But I am starting to question if VW has any Quality Control department. I only have one hard concern, which will be addressed by a recall once they get the replacement boards out that charge the 12v battery. That recall fixes a dead in the water condition for the 2024 model.

Quirks...
  • VW nixed the mirrors from retracting function because of the chip shortage.
  • The sensors for front end collision detection, fake engine noise at low speeds, and others like the audible "you are too damn close to the curb" sensors. will disengage or give you an audible warning for no reason in cold weather.
  • Fantom alerts from the car app that gives you notifications that the window is open, or the door is unlocked (but sometimes it actually is see below) 👇
  • Hit or miss on the walk away automatic lock or proximity walk up unlock sensing.
  • Hit or miss on the foot waving sensor to open the hatch door.
  • Hit or miss on the Windows rolling up when you are pulling up on the switch, sometimes the damn window has to go all the way down to go up.
  • Sometimes the charge level of 80% max gets ignored and goes all the way to 100%
  • My favorite... I went to pull the hatch release lever at the driver side door. Nothing happened, so I pulled harder! And too my surprise it pulled out and the switch isn't connected to anything??? And I fished in the door to not find any wire harness. Why not just put a blank filler there? 🤔

Somehow, the Chattanooga ID.4s seem markedly worse than the German-built 2022 I had. And a couple of those up there were issues with the 2022 as well…
