As a kid in the 80s, I think it was on Showtime, I watched every special and thought he was so damn funny. I haven’t seen a performance in decades.

I suspect that for adults properly ethanol-titrated he was hilarious, and I guess there was more to his act than just fruit assault. Still. Mostly not my thing, I think.
