I don’t really care which bank services the credit card (as long as they didn’t enter into a deal that switches the card to the AmEx or Discover networks, as those aren’t accepted everywhere). But i’m interested in the issue re: the Apple Savings account. Wonder if Chase will offer higher interest rates.

Apple just officially announced it:

According to Apple's press release, the change will take place "in approximately 24 months."

A lot can change in two years' time. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all if every US bank is nationalized by then.

Apparently the program was not designed very well and people are surprised that Chase agreed to take it on:

I don't care who picks it up, just as long as I can still buy Apple products buy now/pay monthly for 0% interest. They can keep the Apple Cashback. Hardly use it.

having a few bucks a day swept into my savings account has been pretty nice. The main card I used before Apple Card has a points system where I can set it to sweep cash once I reach a certain number of points (or log in and “shop” for crap with it), but I prefer Apple’s setup. Almost all of my spending goes through Apple Card now - the old card is pretty much just used by my wife when she buys stuff for my kid or the house.

To me the biggest advantage of Apple’s card is it seems way less likely that someone will be able to use the number. My bank’s card number got stolen at least 3 times over the years, and while I wasn’t financially responsible it is a big pain to have to change card numbers, update recurring auto pays, etc.

I guess if I used it as my main card, it would be a bigger reward. I primarily use my Amex Delta or Sapphire Preferred.
