In short, maps.google.com now redirects to google.com/maps. So if you grant location access to google maps, you are granting it to everything else at google.com.

Great. Why don't we all just give them a key to the flat and ask them to help with the housework now and then.
 
This is why I've been using more of duckduckgo but their results don't compare to Google so I really only use them when I don't need things to be really narrowed down.
 
They going to love knowing my boring life. Work, Home, Work, Home, Work, Store, Home, Work, CVS, Home, Work, Home, Stationary, Stationary... Repeat. Now you know, and soon Google will know.

What they don't see is at my home, I have the statue in my study with the red button when you flip the head. That reveals the fireman's pole to my secret lair.
