And Newsom is defending them, I know he's probably going to be the nominee but this is where he loses me. He's always been an elitist snob and you can't pretend to be a friend of the working man while protecting these entitled assholes."I'm a billionaire, why can't you just leave me alone?"
(yeah, maybe, just stop trying to steal all our stuff)
And yet he can’t win nationally because he’s too liberal. And Newsom is defending them, I know he's probably going to be the nominee but this is where he loses me. He's always been an elitist snob and you can't pretend to be a friend of the working man while protecting these entitled assholes.
I doubt he's going to be the nominee actually because he's not "liberal" enough. Having love-ins with Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson while saying abolishing ICE is too far (a position supported by over 70% of Democrats and even a majority of Americans now never mind in 3 more years of this shit) is just not going to fly in a Democratic primary. People are really fucking mad. He's also, as far as I can tell, just not very bright. And Newsom is defending them, I know he's probably going to be the nominee but this is where he loses me. Not that I care much for Newsom, but I think by 2028 things are going to look a touch different than 2024 and even this is an over-interpretation of 2024. Liberal and radical are more about identity than actual policy proposals. If Newsom struggles here it is because despite being white and male, he is still a (D) from California and even originally the "dreaded" San Francisco who gives off serious Romney vibes for elitist and out of touch. Harris is also (D) California and SF, but even "worse" than elitist/out-of-touch is black and female on top of that. That's why no matter what positions she took she was never going to escape the "radical" and "too liberal" label. Thus, her late campaign strategy of retrying the Biden tactic of appealing to the crossover conservatives simply couldn't work for her because while those people would be willing to vote for a white man, voting for her was a non-starter and Newsom probably do better on those metrics than her regardless of what positions he took. However, a person with far more left wing viewpoints but wrapped in a different package would be coded differently even though the actual proposed policies were more liberal and do even better. That's why so many politicians adopt the folksy blue-collar aesthetic even when they are clearly anything but. It works. And yet he can’t win nationally because he’s too liberal.
Billionaires who have already left, or plan on leaving, California can all just fuck right off. Good riddance.

These the same masculine domestic terrorists who stormed the Capitol on Jan 6th that have subsequently been pardoned and now don ICE uniforms? The same people who are more outraged at a person using the bathroom if they aren't the correct sex while remaining silent when a school full of kids get shot up by assault weapons? Not sure who thought Tim Walz was going to appeal to masculine males, but that person should never be allowed around a campaign again.
No, Eric. The way you know if a man is masculine is if he posts racist memes of black people as apes. That’s the most manly thing to do.These the same masculine domestic terrorists who stormed the Capitol on Jan 6th that have subsequently been pardoned and now don ICE uniforms?
I mean wow, just when you thought he couldn't get any lower. No, Eric. The way you know if a man is masculine is if he posts racist memes of black people as apes. That’s the most manly thing to do.

That maga prop up the dainty little orange buffoon, with his makeup, 3 hour hair prep, and tiny little lift boots as a "masculine male" tells me a lot, I mean A LOT about maga supporters ...![]()
IIRC, you said at one point that Newsom would have fared better for the Democrats in '24, but aside from him, who do you suggest as a politician who would appeal to so-called "masculine males" in numbers that could materially affect the outcome of the next presidential election? Not sure who thought Tim Walz was going to appeal to masculine males, but that person should never be allowed around a campaign again.
I say they write them off the same way MAGA wrote off normal people. Fuck 'em, they'll never vote for a Democrat anway. When the political tide shifts it'll be those in the middle who make the difference, not angry roided out gym bros.IIRC, you said at one point that Newsom would have fared better for the Democrats in '24, but aside from him, who do you suggest as a politician who would appeal to so-called "masculine males" in numbers that could materially affect the outcome of the next presidential election?
What is scary is the thought that appealing to "masculine males" is even desirable. The US is already suffering from Testosterone toxicity on a huge scale.who would appeal to so-called "masculine males"
To be fair, pretty sure when he raised “masculine males” what he really meant was “uneducated rednecks.” They weren’t going to vote in their own interests in any case, so we should stop worrying about them. What is scary is the thought that appealing to "masculine males" is even desirable. I agree. But since @Herdfan called out Walz as being unfit for a campaign, I was curious as to who he would consider desirable, since I believe he had mentioned Newsom in the past. What is scary is the thought that appealing to "masculine males" is even desirable.
