Epstein Files

SCOTUS gave him a free pass, but that wouldn’t apply to impeachment and conviction by Congress.

It’s the people I listed, who are too selfish or stupid to do anything, who are willing to overlook his transgressions. I don’t think the majority of Americans fall into that category, but nothing will change unless they’re willing to fight.
IMO even if Dems sweep in the midterms, even with a 2/3 majority, they will still not impeach. They simply don't have the balls to do anything but maybe Chuck Schumer can keep shaking his finger of derision with his glasses drawn down on his nose, that's kind of fighter we need.

Oh, i think for sure they will impeach him. Repeatedly, in fact. They won’t remove him, because no matter how well they do they won’t get ⅔ in the senate.

If the Dems sweep the midterms and attempt all these hearings a lot of people just won't show up and not a damn thing will be done about it because the DOJ is also a Trump appendage. But we may not even get there due to claims of rampant voter fraud that needs to be investigated and just not swearing members in. The second half of his term will be defined by even more law breaking and obstruction of justice.

It's everyone's issue alas, and it is not only him but the others working behind the scenes that are the most dangerous 😒
They are feeding him with what is convenient to them, right now he’s more from another planet, mentally speaking...and acting alas

Yep, rendering the entire process useless and wasting everyone's time. If he's impeached again with zero consequences what does it actually matter?

Anyone who thinks Trump will face any sort of penalty before he dies will be sadly mistaken, he will go out knowing he's accomplished every awful and shitty thing he's done to this country ant its people. I do agree that kneecapping his second term is the way to go but look for him to use every means possible to prevent it, including our own military.

It’s not a waste of time. It is in fact crucially important to do. Further while the Republicans might too cowardly to impeach him others in his administration are far more vulnerable. Finally, from a political standpoint hanging that failure over Republicans is a necessary argument for reforms. And as you say in the next paragraph kneecapping his administration is part of the solution.

He'll wear it like a badge of honor and the only change will be energizing his base, lest we've learned absolutely nothing over the last 8 years.

That’s not what happened as a result of impeachment last time - Trump LOST in 2020 after impeachment - and NOT impeaching him would be so much worse. That would be the opposition party declaring that he was right to do these things. You don’t win by not fighting.

Not sure how you draw that conclusion, Trump still won a second term and much of it was based on his getting arrested as well as capitalizing on his impeachment. I'm all for fighting but that's not what Democrats do, they start proceedings and then hedge, then Trump stomps their faces into the dirt and they go home crying with their tails between their legs.

The Democratic party as it stand is weak and needs real leadership, not people who get laughed off the stage. I'm happy to agree to disagree here but mark my words, if this impeachment gets off the ground it will have zero impact in the end and Trump will just come out stronger.

The timeline is that Trump was impeached in 2019 and lost in 2020. Yes he won 4 years later and this post will be too short to go into all the reasons why. But if attempts to hold him accountable energized his base he should've won in 2020. He didn't.
