App keeps creating windows of individual chats and I can't figure out how to disable it. It's a relatively new behavior but it's making texting difficult.
 
It could be your mouse/pointing device reporting a double-click rather than a single click, opening another window. You could try making it slower in settings to see if that helps, but it could also be the device reporting a double-click to MacOS. Sticky buttons or a low battery could cause some anomalies.
