Yup. My fave counterargument to them is if escalation is the universal solution, we wouldn't have denuclearization efforts. I've never ever heard a coherent response to this.

Denuclearization efforts are just foreign attempts to weaken the US. Makes sense to let civilians own nuclear weapons to pick up the slack. Perfectly in line with the spirit of the 2nd amendment. Q.E.D.

I want arm-launched weaponized drones. Those could count as "arms" too and I seriously need killer robots for protection!

Settle for arms like Doc Ock’s. Can’t get more textual than that when it comes to bearing arms. Depending on implementation it could also count as killer robots for protection.

Should arm-launched weaponized drones be ruled legal you would then also have many more arms that can wield those launchers! Imagine the firepower! Probably enough to compensate for virtually any length (or lack thereof) caused by severe environmental issues. No need to bother with the magnifying glass.

Yeah, it makes MR look like a unity festival. Even if Fox doesn’t put spin on a story I know I can always count on the commenters to full speed drive it off a far right cliff. Although, there are some commenters on there that do point out their BS. I assume they are probably either moderates or relics from the pre-Trump Republican party who, like a ghost, still stick around because they don’t realize they are dead.

Some of that is blatantly obvious as the same exactly worded outrage bait comment will be posted throughout a comments section that doesn't relate to anything they were responding to. Thanks Obama.

On a related note, I used to post a lot on a music production forum that had an open topic section, almost like PRSI on MR but not specifically geared towards politics. The section would semi frequently get spammed with porn link posts. So one day I started going to a porn forum and spamming it with music production questions and posts. It was actually quite fun. I had some funny screen shots of the discussions but this was back in the day before you had your entire photo history on your phone synced to the cloud and I lost those screen shots, arguably one of the biggest disappointments in my life and blow to my legacy. But I swear it happened!

Every time someone tries to convince me that police shootings of unarmed black man is the result of lack of training, I remind them that police seems to have no problems apprehending heavily armed, mass murderers.... so long as they are white.

ATLANTA — Atlanta police say they arrested a man who brought multiple guns into the Publix grocery store at Atlantic Station Wednesday afternoon.

There’s no report of him pointing the weapons or using the weapons at all before police arrived.

Investigators say the man, identified as Rico Marley, 22, walked into the store just after 1:30 p.m. holding a rifle. He then went into the bathroom.

I've always said since the Black Panthers, it's going to take Black people or PoC exercising the SAME rights as their WHITE counterparts, or God forbid doing the same heinous shit. To get the other side to seriously even mouth anything about gun legislation.

This. If I ever saw anybody without a uniform wearing a firearm to the grocery store, I won't only never come back to that establishment, but I'd immediately move out of Texas too.
 
Was listening the Joe Walsh show from the other day. He’s right wing but not insane right, and if nothing else when I don’t agree with his views he at least articulates them well and admits his view aren’t the only or correct views. However I was a little shocked at the angle he introduced to the gun debate. He’s pro second amendment but admits we have a shooting problem in the country. What shocked me was he suggested that maybe we start by just accepting regular mass shootings as part of living in the US with our kind of freedoms. As appalling as that is, it’s probably closest to the reality compared to anything that might possibly be done about it.

He also brought up one of the favorite straw men deflections of 2nd amendment supporters, the fact that we don’t seem to care about all the shootings in poor gang infested neighborhoods. He even mentioned some high numbers in those killings. What does that have to do with anything and how is that a defense? Is there anybody out there claiming to be against mass or spree shootings but pro poor neighborhood shootings?

He’s generally a reasonable guy, but what I’m hearing is somebody flailing around in an attempt to defend the indefensible realizing their defenses are exhausted and played out, to use an appropriate pun, out of ammo.
