The correlation between # of guns and easy access to them, and the number of people dead, is increasing rapidly. It’s time to repeal or reform the second amendment. The March For Our Lives needs to turn from a one- time public event into a full-time political campaign.
 
Shooting tonight at a Bob Evans south of me. One of those "If I can't have her, nobody can" kinda things. 🤨 Fortunately they caught the guy.

@shadow puppet reminded me that a little over a year ago there was a similar situation at a grocery store only a mile from me...only in that one the guy blew his head off in front of the woman to demonstrate his deep love for her.
 
The fundamental lack of "good guys" stopping mass shootings is easily the biggest reason to tamp down gun rights. Too easy ownership has undermined a major part of public health, and we can't use masks or social distancing to mitigate this.

On the other hand, I'm starting to think that getting a solid pistol for concealed-carry is a good idea, because I can combat train, learn how to carry, and mitigate my vulnerability, and if there's a shooter, I've got an option besides hide and run.

The problem has long been that carrying a gun is bad for journalists—we once put the duty to our fixer in Iraq, who made sure we knew how to use the AKM he kept in the car.

Going to a grocery store in the U.S. is starting to feel like Iraq, or parts of Mexico.
 
I think we can pretty much put the whole "good guy with a gun" idea in the oven, cremate it, encase it in concrete and drop it in the deepest part of the ocean.

It's now more than obvious that the 2nd Amendment, as interpreted, no longer has a functional use and has, in fact, become a deadly burden.

I'd love to see us implement a gun buy-back program like Australia's. I know in a society with a gazillion extant guns it would take not years, not decades, but generations to reduce the number to a minimal size. But you know what the Chinese say about how to start a long journey.

I don’t know the numbers on these type killings, but I’m willing to bet that many of these killers fell under “law abiding responsible gun owner” up to the point they got cheated on, and statistically speaking there's a good chance people will get cheated on. In many cases people emotionally feel cheating still applies even if their victim told them the relationship is over.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A spokeswoman for a Wisconsin casino says an undetermined number of people have been shot at the casino.

The Oneida Casino in Green Bay tweeted Saturday there was an active shooter at the casino. Spokeswoman Bobbi Webster said Saturday evening that she didn’t have information on how many were shot or their conditions. She said she also did not have confirmation that anyone had been arrested.

Green Bay police and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office told The Associated Press they have no details on the casino incident.

Webster cited Oneida police and casino security for her information. She said people were being cleared out of the casino and nearby properties.

“We do not know where the individual was shooting, or (where) individuals were shot,” Webster said.

The Oneida Casino is operated by the Oneida Nation. Webster said the casino is connected to a large hotel and conference center, the Radisson, also owned by the Oneida Nation.

Gambler Max Westphal said he was standing outside after being evacuated for what he thought was a minor issue.

“All of a sudden we hear a massive flurry of gunshots — 20 to 30 gunshots for sure,” Westphal told WBAY-TV. “We took off running towards the highway ... There had to have been 50 cop cars that came by on the highway. It was honestly insane.”

I think what the pesky issue is, is so many "bad" guys that seem like "good" guys, keep purchasing guns.
