Back in 2005 when we bought this house, Insteon was new. I had played with X10 for a couple of lights at the old house, but jumped all in with Insteon. Probably about 70 switches. They started failing almost as soon as I put them in. Returned them, put the replacements in and they failed. Pulled them all out and at least got a credit from Smarthome and bought some other stuff. Went with Lutron's Homeworks and it has been rock solid for 16 years now.

But that really sucks for these people. Nothing worse that having a simple light switch not work.

We are at the beck and call of these companies and their cloud services unfortunately, if I had my way I would run everything locally but it's too much trouble to circumvent all these different devices.
