This is my last comment on this matter. We now await actual statistics from Apple one way or another. I think we can all agree this post was way more insightful than any of these crappy sites
As I said, we should wait for Apple's official numbers to come out.
They released the official number.
66% of all iPhones are running iOS 26, and 57% of all iPads are running iPadOS 26. This compares to 68% and 53% of iPhones and iPads for iOS 18.
Meaning with the 4% higher iPad upgrade numbers with 2% lower numbers for iPhone, total upgrade numbers are similar or better than iOS 18. Launch upgrade numbers were way better than iOS 18.
Also for anyone claiming Apple fudged numbers by waiting a little extra (as I'm seeing some sites claim), TelemetryDeck claimed 66% awhile ago. There's obviously a mismatch between unofficial and official, as I said before, but this gives an indication that these numbers were
not massively (if it all) helped by waiting a little.
And again, for anyone claiming Apple somehow forced these upgrades because of security patches and upgrade notifications, I would like to remind you that Apple also patched major security updates with iOS 18 (as they basically do every single update), and Apple actually delayed notifications for users later than normal for iOS 26
This was corroborated by a third party app developer who noticed this.
Stop rewarding these sites with your time, energy, and views. They don't have the "courage" to put in their headlines that iOS 26 isn't a failure and the actual numbers, merely "click to see Apple's numbers," vs their apocalyptic headlines "iOS 26 IS A FAILURE."
