In the good news department:

A week ago, transgender Representative Zooey Zephyr delivered a powerful speech against a bill that would create a separate indecent exposure law for transgender people. Since then, momentum on the House floor slowed. Today, two of the most extreme bills targeting the transgender community came up for a vote. Transgender Representatives Zooey Zephyr and SJ Howell gave impassioned speeches—this time, they broke through. In a stunning turn, 29 Republicans defected, killing both bills. One Republican even took the floor to deliver a scathing rebuke of the bill’s sponsor.

In related news poll after poll shows the extreme actions of the Trump administration against trans people are unpopular. Voters gave them an inch and they took a light-year.

The grotesque part is Trump probably doesn't give a shit either way, but give him an opportunity to inflict pain and damage to anybody or group of people and he'll take it to the extreme.

Except 70% of Americans don’t think biological boys should be allowed to participate in girls sports.

That’s one of many considerations that can be dealt with outside the blanket demonization of all trans people. I won’t even get into how exceedingly rare that scenario actually happens but is taking up a lot of space in people’s head for some inexplicable reason.

His morals are based on his power and ability to control his world, do what he wants, be rich and be emperor.

I don't disagree here, but they're going off the deep end MAGA style with renaming the Enola Gay. I mean really? It's the actual name of the mother of one of the pilots. This administration is very much taking the shoot now ask questions later approach to everything, using a wrecking ball instead of a scalpel. Their ignorance is off the charts.

The most caustic Bull Shit ever perpetrated in DC by the most Caustic Human in the Western World, Hell bent on destruction at our expense and his profit. I heard “Enola Hetro” sounds like someone’s idea of a joke, a sick pathetic joke.

I'd say Texas trying to pass a law that makes being trans an identity fraud crime qualifies as off the deep end.

It wasn't that long ago the same was considered true for interracial marriage. Even more recently the numbers were the same for same-sex marriage.

This is argumentum ad populum. It's got nothing to do with arguing for the morality or justice of the thing, it's just pointing at public opinion and saying "see?"

They only use these polls when it suits them. I can put up a half dozen certified public polls where they disagree with Republican policies and he would never respond.

Yes, but there is nothing inherently unfair about interracial or same-sex marriage.

They same can’t be said for males competing against females.

That wasn't the argument you made.

If you want me to take this claim seriously (that there is inherent unfairness), I need something a bit more solid. The reality is that things are a lot more nuanced than "Y means stronk", and when trans people get therapy matters a lot in terms of final outcomes (as poorly studied as they are), but you've also been on the concern train for the therapies that exist which would alleviate some of the concerns here, creating a double bind for many trans people. Not allowed to choose how they develop, and then excluded from service, public spaces, and more because they were made to wait and get "clocked". But the reality is that no matter how much I argue that it's more complicated, you will argue the above, as you have over the years. So I don't really want to get into it again.

I am honestly done with the paternalistic attitude I keep running across when it comes to trans people (and minorities in general). I'm just done.

So you are saying there is something unfair in being trans.

I look at it as a physiological difference in events that are mostly based on human strength. On this issue I can't agree that it's fair, I just don't know how they downgrade the strength of a man to that of a woman where they can scientifically prove it.
