I got into trouble for stating that people should expect Sunny5 to argue in bad faith given their history of ignoring any arguments that don't fit their narrative and got a warning for that...

Trolls are allowed to argue in bad faith, tell everyone they are ignoring the evidence while hypocritically ignoring responses that contradict their own message and carry on as though no one ever corrected them, but heaven forbid you call them out for arguing in bad faith.

I believe m7chy finally crossed a line and started to catch suspensions or maybe even a ban. It’s awhile ago but I remember coming across a post of theirs and it said suspended or maybe banned user? Memory fades as to which, but regardless I think they finally slipped up on the troll tightrope @mr_roboto referred to.

Yeah, I remember. He got suspendend all the time but displayed a habit of coming back. Till a few months ago - haven't seen him post ever since. Not that I miss 'em 😬

I’m pretty sure that if they detect that you have multiple accounts you will get banned. Probably not that big of a problem. The place is definitely getting worse. Clickbait pays. Considered debate is boring.

I just don’t interact with users like sunny5, mi7chy, zest28, and appletoni. They are trolls and their only goal is to get people smarter than they are suspended. What’s disheartening is when someone who seems superficially reasonable like bobcomer goes off the deep end and insists that his knowledge is greater than others who have demonstrated considerable expertise. Trying to figure out who is safe to interact with on that site is kind of nerve wracking.

Oh my, Bobcomer. Means well. Very insistent we know he’s not a “single tasker”. Absolutely certain an Intel machine is better because it has more cores. Not malicious though.

I am curious how they detect multiple accounts tbh.

Usually by IP address or people forgetting what account they are logged in as.
