For a limited time, Steam is offering a free game compatible with the Mac, an indie title called "Figment", from developer Bedtime Digital Games.
According to the description, "Figment is an action-adventure game that invites you to explore a unique surreal universe filled with music, humor and multi layered narrative. Join Dusty and his ever-optimistic friend, Piper, on an adventure through the different sides of the mind seeking to restore the courage that's been lost."
Both recent and long term user reviews give it an overall rating of "Very Positive". It's an older title, released in 2017, but appears to be well regarded among the general gaming public, with one reviewer remarking that "There's a French spider who sings jazz slam poetry while she tries to kill you".
I would note that, despite being listed as "This product is not compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina or above", as Steam often erroneously claims, it works fine with the latest Macs, both Intel and Apple Silicon. Another user states: "Runs great on base M2 Mac mini, despite Steam warning it might not run at all".
Any modern Mac should have no issue running this game, it seems to be well regarded among gamers, and the price is hard to argue with. Figment is free on Steam until March 9th at 10:00am.
