Noted there wasn't a single music thread, and a lot of music fanatics on here, so here we are.

Music is as fantastic as it’s ever been, is my take.

Those that disagree are angry old people, generally speaking.

When you’re at a restaurant, Shazam that song. When you’re watching TV or a film, Shazam that song. Do the fucking work, it’s really not hard.

If you tell me “there’s no good music anymore” I know you’re not trying at all.

Oh, there's incredible modern music, if your examples of "bad" music are based around some kind of Top 40, guess what? There's always been bad popular/pop music :D

New releases from Florence + The Machine. They/she are glorious. I ordered the special vinyl edition (ships on Oct 31st), that will include 4 tracks orchestrated as chamber music variants.

The vinyl edition mentioned above (still available)!

Yeah baby, vinyl coming back online ...

Scored a B-stock, they sent me a new one

"No Schiit?"

"EXACTLY"

(FWIW, that's a phono pre-amp)

Finally cleaning up/out the new “listening room”, stoked.

This is part of the new vinyl setup …

Listening to “Dark Side of the Moon” s as we speak. Currently laid up post surgery on my spine. It sucks. Positive news I get time to listen to music on my Naim Muso 2.
Dark side of the moon is one of my favorite albums of all time. What a brilliant brilliant masterpiece. It needs full listening from the beginning straight through to the end.
If I could go back in time I’d go to a live gig to see them live. I was born in the wrong era! 😂😂

Sorry to hear about the spine surgery. My only advice is to keep up with the PT and do your daily stretches, after you get the green light to start.

Real music and real musicians full of feel and raw talent. That was indeed the generation to grow up in and while things have shifted away from that I'm glad to have at least had that as part of my growing up as well.

Rest up my friend, no better music to chill out and recover to.

Holy hell, the new setup is f-ing stellar!

Fluance RT-82 into a Schiit (snicker ...) Mani 2 preamp, a Vali 2 headphone amp/pre with a Electro Harmonix 6922 tube, and some Sennheiser 6xx

Metallica ... One ... WOW.

Metallica S&M - the orchestral album with Michael Kamen and the San Francisco orchestra is a fantastic album. The orchestral arrangement of songs like nothing else matters, enter sandman etc… gives an almost filmic soundtrack quality.
Try listening to it with the lights off in a dark room. Really something.

Oh yeah, it's pretty fantastic.

More Metallica: I picked up the Black album, remastered, 180g, in "Some Blacker" finished vinyl :)

I was interested in a "best of" type album for Imagine Dragons, so I went off to Amazon. What I found instead was a German import that was their first 6 albums (Evolve, Mercury Act 1, Mercury Act 2, Night Visions, Origins and Smoke + Mirrors) for about $40. So I picked that up along with their latest album, Loom. I've just been listening to that non-stop while I work. That's just how I do it with new music. Listen non-stop until I know all the songs.

Holy hell, this packaging is amazing! 🔥 New Florence + the Machine I mentioned above.

Shipped on Halloween ... of course 😄

We been doing some listening events at our local indie record store. The most recent was one a little more for the daughter (though we do dig on the artist too), it was for Hayley Williams (you might know her from Paramore).

Daughter pre-ordered, got a poster, bag, and the record a few days early.

We hit up Dog Rose, for local brews and Wed night craft pizza!

Ran across this about a year back in my TikTok feed from the late 70s and had never heard it before then. To this day I still find it quite memorizing, Kate Bush was (and still is) a gifted sinter/songwriter.

Yeah, amazing. Track down some of her concerts, really incredible performances, blending of art, dance, music, very theatrical.

Todd Snider guy was amazing, and at the very least you should listen to this:

I mean, this is goddam genius!

Now, to fit in on the Seattle scene
You've gotta do somethin' they ain't never seen
So thinkin' up a gimmick one day
We decided to be the only band that wouldn't play a note
Under any circumstances
Silence

Music's original alternative

HAHAHAHA 😄

We were scorin' chicks, takin' drugs
Then we got asked to play MTV Unplugged
You should have seen it
We went right out there and refused to do acoustical versions
Of the electrical songs we had refused to record in the first place

Then we smashed our shit
