Every employee who’s ever had an important duty and done his best to fulfill that duty, only to watch his superiors cut him off at the knees, has just gone, “AAAAARRRRRRRGGGHHHHH!”Meanwhile now it's a thing for GOP House members to resist Capitol Police checking reps through the metal detectors, and in some cases they are backing off. Louie Gohmert walked around it. Apparently the redoubtable Congressperson Boebert of Colorado aka the glock lady was eventually permitted to enter the House chamber with a bag that had set off the alarm and she refused to let them look in it. Big argument; the cops caved. WTF? And she is not the only one. I am tired of these theatrics really, but mostly because not sure they are even theatrics.

The Alamo is an adobe fort (historical site for tourists) in downtown San Antonio. Individual-ONE went to the town of Alamo, a suburb of McAllen TX, which is on the Rio Grande (border river) about 50-some miles from the Gulf (very southern Texas).
San Antonio is nearly 400 miles north of McAllen and is itself about 100 miles from the nearest part of the Mexican border. Curiously, the way-southern part of Texas is extremely solid blue.
Not sure but the world is having a lot of fun speculating. But, did he go to the right Alamao?
Or, rather, was the Alamo he visited the wrong one, unless he wished to stir up stuff about walls?

Trump Goes To the Wrong Alamo in Metaphor for His Presidency | The Mary Sue
Donald Trump went to Alamo, Texas instead of the Alamo in San Antonio because he is deeply stupid.www.themarysue.com
At this point, I think I am past caring. In a month, the whole jawdropping shitshow will be fading out. We will have an antic-free president who tweets maybe 10 times a year instead of 30 times a day. The crazies will still be trying to cause trouble but more and more they will be getting put down (not, unfortunately, in the way that is done with old, sick pets). Next Wednesday (7days/13hours ATM) cannot get here soon enough. But, did he go to the right Alamo?
That is what the Guardian had implied, earlier, when I read the piece.
Pence could secure himself some political capital for the future just by tossing Trump under the bus. But with only 8 days left, he decides not to? When he’s sad and alone a year from now, I imagine he will be kicking himself for not taking this chance to buy himself the one ounce of redemption he possibly could.....Yeah I don't think these antics are going to play w/ the Speaker. She has other things prioritized
like Jamie Raskin's bill to create an independent commission to declare the president unfit (since Pence and cabinet won't do it but the constitution says "other body as specified by Congress")
but Pelosi's not going to let this stunting by Boeboert and others pass. Tweet below is probably on the money, but Boebert's not the only one who's going to end up "going through some things."

But you know what, this is so typical of this version of the GOP. They just do what they do and then say "So? Deal with it why dontcha?" and they steamroll inconvenient protocol or rules to the extent they can, meanwhile talking about criminals and law and order out the other side of their faces. Bunch of wackos strike me as having personality disorders never got looked after...

There are no confirmed cabinet members left, so he cannot obtain a majority of zero. 25A does provide for this, the Congress can appoint a group to do the job, but if QTip does not want to do it, why would they? They need him to lead it.
well she got her gun taken away from her and is getting investigated.https://www.twitter.com/i/web/status/1349162328722452481/

...Representative Ayanna Pressley had two reasons to be afraid: She has alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that puts her in the high-risk category for coronavirus, and she is one of four Democratic representatives in a group self-dubbed “The Squad,” which has drawn ire and racist attacks from Trump and his supporters.
Because of multiple death threats over the past two years, running through safety drills and threat scenarios has become routine at Pressley’s office, said Sarah Groh, her chief of staff. Groh, Pressley, and her husband had planned to wait in Pressley’s D.C. apartment until later in the afternoon. That changed as the House sergeant-at-arms pressured lawmakers to come sooner, warning the crowds could get too thick to safely escort them in.
“I was deeply concerned,” Groh said of going to the Capitol complex. “It felt like the heat was being turned up in terms of the rhetoric and Trump’s aims to incite violence.”
As people rushed out of other buildings on the Capitol grounds, staffers in Pressley’s office barricaded the entrance with furniture and water jugs that had piled up during the pandemic. Groh pulled out gas masks and looked for the special panic buttons in the office.
“Every panic button in my office had been torn out — the whole unit,” she said, though they could come up with no rationale as to why. She had used them before and hadn’t switched offices since then. As they were escorted to several different secure locations, Groh and Pressley and her husband tried to remain calm and vigilant — not only of rioters but of officers they did not know or trust, she said.
