Far too many who refused the vaccine needlessly died, according to the NIH 19.8 million of 31.4 million were saved as a result. How many stories did we hear of them being hospitalized while on their deathbeds asking if it was too late for the vaccine, when it sadly was. I would never wish that on anyone, what a horrible way to go.

I don't care what side one is on, anyone who died from it was sad but once the vaccine came out death actually became preventable for those who chose to get it.

It was in jest, besides It's nothing the right isn't saying about Liberals on a daily basis, remember when they used to be vague about it before Trump and Musk literally gave them the world stage to scream their hatred and death threats from the rooftops?

We had patients and families begging for ivermectin and other unproven therapies once it was obvious the end was fast approaching. What was particularly sad about these deaths is that patients often passed in isolation, only able to visit with their loved ones virtually if they were fortunate.

What’s even sadder is that we’ll be even less prepared for the next pandemic, thanks to the Trump administration, especially RFK, Jr., and the Republican senators and representatives who did nothing to stop it.

It's my hope that once this administration is gone that saner heads will prevail and everything will be reinstated. I agree we'll lose time and research until that happens but I think it's the best we can hope for. Nothing slows growth and progress like a Republican led government, even a midterm sweep will help to slow their agenda.

Of course, but there is no need for any wishing - maps of red/blue counties during the pandemic clearly showed excess death rates in red counties over blue counties (excess - so not explained by pre-existing disparities).

Have you considered blaming the MAGA nuts for doing all they could to diminish public health measures during that period, and now doing everything to dismantle public health AND the science behind it?

What I find particularly disgusting is MAGA going after Dr. Anthony Fauci, who served the United States under seven presidents (starting with Ronald Reagan and receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from George W. Bush), after receiving many death threats required a 24/7 federal security detail as a private citizen. Which trump quickly and summarily removed after taking office in January 2025. What a POS petty move.

Being the lead virologist during all the uncertainty surrounding COVID would be an unenviable position for any person I think. There were so many unknowns that had every well established doctor/scientist grasping at one point or another. He did the best he could with the information he had.

Instead of acknowledging the nature of it, much of the country was too wrapped up in blaming both the medical field and China. All fine and well but once we had an established vaccine people could stop dying if they so chose, sadly so many opted out and succumbed to it as a result. Some rednecks, some not, whatever, it was all preventable at that point and a conscious choice people made.

My wife is traveling to CA this month, so she got her flu and pneumonia shots on a Friday. She was ok until Saturday night, but just needed rest. This Friday I went in for mine. COVID is available, but I don’t qualify. I got flu and pneumonia and was great until Saturday afternoon, at which point I had aches, pains, and cold chills for about 9 hours. I used to da through the flu shots, which were provided free at work for the last 15 years.

Not gonna happen, we've established that only one side ever gets held accountable regardless of the act.
 
What we are witnessing right now is unimaginable in both the world of politics and healthcare. RFK comes across as a clueless conspiracy nut throughout this entire hearing. He's angry, combative and ignorant.

All I can say is God help all the children who are about to die in Florida as a result, one person asked him how many dead kids are acceptable under this new policy.
