He was definitely that. I remember being ticked off at first when Cleveland traded away "Sudden Sam" McDowell for Perry. But I was all wrong on that one and Perry was a great acquisition, at least in the beginning of his time with the then Indians.

And completely unapologetic about it. Might even say he bragged about it.
