Small Details at New Apple Store

A new Apple Store launches soon, and there a lot of small details that I found very interesting. Aside from the fact that space between tables is exactly 2 wheel chair widths so people with wheel chairs can navigate the store, passing each other; another detail is that the Genius Bar has a custom table height designed for wheel chair users to roll up to it without needing to adjust at all.

Chief among these details is the new spatial computing area. Apple says spatial computing is the blending of digital into the real world. Unlike every other display in the Apple Store, this display showcasing spatial computing is at a near mirror finish. Despite this, the display is highly legible due to its advanced display, fulfilling Apple's goal of subliminally showcasing spatial computing. What an amazing attention to detail that shows Apple's philosophy of a product bleeds through its inception and use case, all the way through to its marketing and product showcase, just as Steve Jobs said before (Apple is Apple).

One more thing: the cute little Apple Watch bubbles have been enhanced with highly refractive glass, so as you move closer to the edge the icons begin to bend and lens, just as Apple's Liquid Glass UI does when content approaches the edge of liquid glass elements (notice how content stays undistorted in the middle of liquid glass, as does this display at the Apple Store).

The video starts at the spatial computing area, but you can rewind to the start if you'd like.

(Yes, I wrote this post by hand. I write everything by hand.)

(Did you notice? This is one of the same YouTubers I used in my Holographic Video Calls post.)

Looks pretty nice, though I couldn’t understand anything being said. Of course I’m blessed with a zillion Apple stores around here, some of which are very nice.

It does look nice! YouTube is buggy crap. Try to refresh the page and manually select the subtitles.
