A North Carolina man who claimed to have a bomb in his truck in front of the Library of Congress gave up after an hours-long standoff with police and is now in custody. No bomb was found in the truck.

Which is what I showed in first tweet I saw that had no context I could find, but was seemingly the "bomber".

CNN led with what they considered to be the most important of areas cleared out because of the threat.

• The suspect, 49-year-old Floyd Ray Roseberry, got out of his black pick-up truck after an hours-long standoff that had led to the evacuation of the library, the Supreme Court, a House office building, and the offices of the Republican National Committee.
• The U.S. Capitol Police Twitter feed warned people to “please stay away from this area.”

A North Carolina man surrendered to police Thursday hours after saying he had a bomb while parked in his truck outside the Library of Congress on Capitol Hill.

That threat by the suspect, 49-year-old Floyd Ray Roseberry, led to the evacuation of the library, the Supreme Court, the Cannon House Office Building, and the offices of the Republican National Committee.

Roseberry posted several videos online while sitting in his truck in the hours before he surrendered.

“He got out of the vehicle and surrendered and the tactical units that were close by took him into custody without incident,” said U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger.

“He gave up and did not resist.”

Manger said there was a propane gas container in the truck, but “at this point we think that’s safe.”

The Trump supporter crediability lasted about 5 seconds. Tired of lying politicans? I hear you. So they voted in an even bigger liar to lead the country while his boot licking party members backed him up, and suddenly they are back to believing politicians again. The GOP and their media shifted from keeping their voters dumb to actively making them dumber while legally hiding behind "Anybody who believes me is an idiot". Seems they accurately defined their voter base because I have yet to see any of them go "Hey, did you just call me an idiot?!?"

Yes, Rachel Maddow successfully won a legal case with the "you're an idiot" defense. The difference is the activist and militant left aren't forming their views based on the Rachel Maddow show. They're ignoring it. I've never heard about or seen her heaping praise on expanded socialism. Antifa isn't marching in the streets in protest of Russiagate. Meanwhile the right is screaming "fake news!" while being glued to it 24/7. Sounds like idiots to me.
