Every so often, the wife and I eat Snow Crab as a treat. Compared to restaurants, our local Kroger’s had a decent deal on crab, 2lb for $20, 4lb for $40… imported from Canada. Went to the store today and paid $26 for 2 lb, just about an exact 25% increase passed straight to the customer, so via the Trump Admin I get to pay, plus sales tax, 33% in taxes on this product, to punish Canada, brilliant! Just keep telling yourself, you wriggly MAGOTs , yeah, this will show’m!! Where do you think this tax revenue ends up?
It even get’s better:
US food makers rely on $12 billion of specialty crop imports from Mexico and $13 billion of baked goods, oils and protein from Canada. Tariffs on both countries suggest costs could spike, according to a Deep Dive report
from Bloomberg Intelligence.
