Most people on a government funded health plan (otherwise the state couldn't remove them) are poor and desperate. So this really only hurts those on the bottom of the society barrel. Now they want even more unwanted babies that they won't take care of for some reason. Odd that a baby inside someone is one of the most precious gifts in the entire universe, but outside of the body they appears to be more akin to yesterday's trash. It's not wanted and they just want it out of sight where it can be forgotten.They believe this behavior will get them two thumbs up when they arrive at Heaven. They truly believe they're doing God's work here. I grew up in church hearing about the evils of abortion. But I don't recall a single sermon that was about supporting and helping that mother after forcing your will upon her. In their minds abortion = bad, and that's pretty much the end of that particular train of thought. It's a super short ride.
