LOVE Venice!!! We want to go back!!
. And we found out from others there, that there's direct flights from Montreal to Venice - so we'll make Montreal our connection rather than Amsterdam next time!!! We didn't realize this is the peak of tourist season when we booked - Rome was an absolute zoo!!!

The Venice film festival is held onsite there. It’s away from the crowds. We spent 4 nights there and I’d do it again. The hotel provides water taxis to hit town, 10-15 minute boat ride. You pay for your own taxi when you first arrive and the day you depart. It’s spendy but great views of Venice from the rooms. Plus you get beach access.
