The studies show a high correlation between reasons you might want to take Tylenol during pregnancy (Fever, urinary tract infection etc) and use of Tylenol.
What a surprise.
The women taking Tylenol had increased risk of ADHD and ASD in their offspring.
Is that because of the Tylenol exposure or because of whatever caused the symptoms you take Tylenol for?

And as to "folic acid deficiency is a more likely contributor than vaccines or Tylenol."

That evidence is very weak, but it hardly matters, since Folate supplements are already part of the routine pregnancy recommendations. If that is RFK's big news, it will be hard to make it much of a game changer.
Also, studies trying to treat ASD with Folate mostly failed.

So a woman I know who has rheumatoid arthritis was instructed to go off her steroid medication during her pregnancy and deal with the pain using Tylenol and ibuprofen. Now what, gut it through for nine months?

NBC did a report on it last week and said every doctor they spoke with recommends women continue to take Tylenol pregnancy and to ignore this. The study the Trump administration cites doesn't take into account that nearly all participants already took Tylenol and wasn't the actual determining factor in the outcome when it comes to autism.

It's junk science cherry picked to fit a narrative with no basis in fact. This fucking administration is full of absolute idiots running the country based on unfounded conspiracy theories.

Have they released any peer reviews confirming this tie to Tylenol, or are they just going to run with "Blame the Woman" again?
 
can’t figure out the angle here. The crazy women at the farmers market who scream at me about fluoridated water and vaccines are angry with Trump and RFK because the answer is supposed to be vaccines. The people at the farmers market who avoid the crazy women don’t believe there’s any sudden surge in autism anyway, and that any increase is just caused by more testing and reporting.

So what is the constituency for this bullshit? Or did Trump just invest a ton of money in NSAIDs?

Except it doesn’t say what RFK/Trump say. It says there is an association. Correlation is not causation. Pregnant women have fevers and other symptoms that might be the cause of autism/adhd, so they take tylenol to feel better. That premise is just as likely based on the paper.

I agree on the difference between association, correlation and causation.

But it does seem there is enough for a major study with proper controls to see if there actually is causation or not.
