JUNIATA COUNTY, Pa. —
Rohrer Bus has released a statement condemning a sign posted on a school bus in the Juniata County School District.
This comes after a News 8 viewer sent us a photo of the sign which reads, "Out of respect to English only students, there will be no speaking Spanish on this bus!" It's signed by "owner/management."
The transportation company said they have been made aware of the sign and want to make it clear Rohrer Bus did not authorize or endorse the sign on the school bus, as the note would suggest.
They say they are investigating the incident with the school district and have suspended the transportation provider involved pending the outcome of the investigation.
Their statement reads:
"We recognize the seriousness of this situation and the impact it may have on our community. Rohrer Bus is committed to taking proactive steps to prevent such incidents in the future. We will be implementing additional training programs focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion for all Juniata County School District transportation providers to ensure that the buses remain safe and welcoming spaces for every student."

Sign in school bus says speaking Spanish not allowed on board
The Juniata County School District says it's aware of the sign posted on one of its buses and took "immediate action."
