What are you doing today?

Hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving with food, family, fun.

We hit up Dis for the week. Tue drove directly to Animal Kingdom (that's where my "cat" pic came from :D), spent the day, had a blast, then drove over to The Swan at The Boardwalk, parked for the rest of the stay :) We basically bounced back and forth between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios every day (< 10 minute walk to either) with GOTG every day (including when we got there on Tue, hahaha we parked and ran). Everything (we know and love) in all the parks, Wife had us all scheduled up on lighting lanes ... B O O M!

So much food, we made it back to Le Cellier Steakhouse (in Canada in EPCOT), the last trip, we weren't even hungry, hahaha, so just split a couple of apps, this time, we got it on :D

The new adult only joint, GEO-82 is super fun-n-fantastic, just small plates (this was Wed), had a stunning bourbon flight, all unique to GEO-82/Dis

Starting from the lower left corner: Uncle Nearest Single Barrel, Woodford Reserve Private Barrel, Blanton’s Gold Single Barrel, Stagg Private Barrel. All spectacular, but Stagg was a religious experience.

Beautiful drinks poured table side

Amazing weather too. I'll toss up some other pics later :)

We have a dozen light-up holiday-themed animals in our front yard. Just discovered the narwhal and unicorn were stolen the other night. Fucktard.

The whole crew is hopping in the wrangler, and we’re headed to the Christmas tree farm. It’s this neat place kind of out the boonies they do things like mulled wine, have all sorts of food, Santa, a huge number of different type Christmas trees.

We set up our nice artificial at the end of November and then a couple weeks later we get a real tree, and move that one to the front area of the house, so it’s a serious Christmas-o-rama around here :D

I’m even deploying our travel Christmas tree. It’s one of those telescoping type set ups. It’s pretty amazing how quick it goes up and down and how good it looks, but anyway up in the upstairs landing room, which is now the music and listening room!

This just happened here too, well, it was on the local news this morning, I think up in Jax.

WTF, stealing Christmas decorations? That's a new low.

Not an option here. We have a pair of 3-month-old "kittens" that would destroy the tree probably before we even got one up. Nothing in this house is safe it they can get near it.

We had a cat that liked to hide in the tree branches and as you said
the tree, even if was big, came down because the cat was too big as a decoration
No cats allowed near Xmas tree.

his bridge sucks the i 205 over the columbia river. almost 2.5 miles long and you're in between the cars going 55mph, its so loud and it's uphill both ways. from 1 to 3% grade. the blike lanes are not bad there are metal plates often, but you have to dodge all the random car parts that end up on it. there is not much on the Washington side we can reach we ride on one few mile long bike path for a 40-mile round trip. The bathroom was closed and we had to go down this steep street that they have been tearing up, which was full of ruts and bumps and gravel patches. braking and dodging the whole time. still worth the ride.
we passed this bike park if we were not a bit tired, I debated on taking the tandem on it. its more then what's in this pic but you get the idea.

I was living and working in the NE part of town when they were building it and took the opportunity to ride across the main car deck before the bridge opened. There is not a lot to Vancouver (the USA one), but if you go over by the Fort, it is darn nice there.

ya I forgot about going there. if we made a loop and came back one the oregon Washington bride it would work but man that bridge ped walk is narrow and stressful to ride on as you have other focus so much.

Prepared for Hanukkah dinner. This was my first ever attempt at challah, and yeast doesn’t like to work well in my house, so I’ll have to do better next time. The matzoh balls are going to be great, though.

These look great! Did you do latkes too?
no, not this year. We figured the challah and matzoh balls was enough starch. Next year I’ll probably revert back to latkes, unless I figure out how to vastly improve my challah.

She was whacking Earl the Squirrel from the arm of the sofa, hahahaha, had to relocate him :D

That tree just had its Xmas migration to the front/bar room, and she followed it in there, just goes and chills on the sofa in that room all evening.

The live tree was interesting to her for a few minutes (mostly the smell), but it's all decorated and she's mostly ignoring it.

Went with a Douglas Fir this year, smells to good! Last year we got a Blue Spruce, it lasted forever, didn't drop a single needle - but was deadly sharp and had no smell!

The Xmas event was fun, but the trees were so-so, we popped into a local tree lot, family that's been doing it since we've lived here, scored a great one for a solid price :)

Oh and we did deploy the travel tree upstairs! Going to work on clearing out that room today, lots of tubs to put in the attic, pics that don't have a home at the moment, will get pics of the live tree and that room later :)
