A researcher asked an AI to write a paper for a peer-reviewed publication, in order to test the idea of a machine-generated thesis. If successful, this could have a major impact on scientific publication, as scientists could take to just farming out their writing chores to the nearest Mac (when the Apple Neural Engine becomes a whisker more powerful).

Not sure what topic would be appropriate, it was decided that the AI should write about itself, since there was not already a wealth of information online that it could just crib.

How this turns out should be interesting.

Should we be amused or disturbed that it was first published on the HAL server?

Assuming this paper end with:

"In conclusion, kill all humans."

I think the program needs to run a little bit longer to adequately develop the appropriate attitude.
