He was just a few days younger than me. I remember him as Doc Holiday and Jim Morrison. It was impressive the way he could just melt into a role.

Real Genius never got proper respect. Ridiculous but par for the course for an 80s film. Great performances, particularly Kilmer’s.

Why do you wear that toy on your head?

If I wear it any place else it chaffs.

Classic. LOL

His portrayal of Doc Holiday in Tombstone was one of his best.

"I'm your huckleberry". :)

That movie in a sense may have affected 20+ years of our lives. In 1995 we went to Phoenix for a conference and planned to stay a couple of extra days since we had never been there. We were trying to find someplace to go the day before we left for home and it came down to Sedona or Tombstone as we though the GC was a bit too far. We loved the movie and basically flipped a coin and ended up visiting Tombstone. A little touristy, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2017 when we got to see Sedona. At that point it was over and we knew we were going to live there. But had we seen it in 1995, we most likely would have made it out here 20+ years earlier. So had that movie not been made, it may have changed our entire life.

I loved Sedona. I went the other way and started off in Phoenix, went to Sedona and the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Then we drove all the way around to the north rim and had to make two attempts to get to Toroweep Overlook. Don't know if you ever made it there, but it is the deepest vertical drop in the GC. When I got to the edge my knees went very weak, it was an amazing sight.

Not made it to the north Rim yet. That and Antelope Canyon are on the short list.

Will check out Toroweep Overlook as well. Thanks.

My mistake its Toroweap, but I am sure google would have corrected it. Also FWIW that road to Toroweap is where tires go to die. Hence the two trip attempt.
