Call them ALL out

Well, given that half the country doesn't care............

Shouldn't that be a HUGE concern, as on that day the Constitution was trashed with the sitting President of the United States of America trying his best to overturn the election by illegal means employing false/alternative electors and cajoling Pence into certifying that slate in order to keep him in power against the will of the people, and not being on-board with a peaceful transfer of power?

The Democrats care. Why is it that Republicans don't care? Do they not care about the Constitution and the rule of law?

Since we are talking about the CHIPS act, I will toss this out there.

Manchin opposed many of Biden’s plans because of inflation. He then criticized the CHIPS act for the same reason. But then he voted to advance it anyway.

Why? Because it already had bipartisan support and he didn’t get to be the “star” for opposing it. He appears to act in order to stay in the spotlight, not with any coherent philosophy.

As for insider trading, go ahead and investigate. We had investigations in 2020 of Burr and Feinstein and somebody else I forget concerning COVID. I don’t think anybody was punished. And if Ginni Thomas can try to overturn an election without consequence for Clarence, I doubt anything will happen to Nancy based on her husband’s actions.

People “don’t care” about climate change either until they suffer 115 degree heat.

What’s hilarious is that herdfan thinks republicans are half the country. 50 percent of voters are independents now. And they all just broke heavily anti-trump according to recent polls.

Eric made a post about Pelosi's husband making a stock trade (actually options) which could have easily been based on her having insider knowledge. If not illegal, it is improper.
Agreed, it is highly improper. If it is not already illegal, it should be. Better to err on the side of caution.

My point was simply that CNN didn't report it even though multiple right-leaning and right-wing news sources had.
You’re saying that they should report about it just because the right-wing media is, even if it is nothing they normally would report about?

Interesting. A policy like that would force them to carry any and all right-wing hit pieces. Nice.

Did you know about it before you came here?
Yes. Seen it many times on Reddit. Loads of upset people over there.

If not, that is my point.
Your point is, as usual, all over the place.

I would love to see some examples of main stream news outlets carrying this news.

CNN, WaPo, NYT, LAT, CT, SFGate (although they might have), MSNBC.

Find these outlets covering this and prove me wrong.
Begging the question.

They aren't. So source?

They aren't. So source?
Recent Gallup polls put the number of self-declared independents at 43%. You could have offered that as a minor correction instead of “they aren’t” as if he was lying instead of just being off by a few points.

Maybe. But would you have cut me that level of slack? I seriously doubt it.

And the last poll I read had them at 39%.

In the spirit of “Call them ALL out"

Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee appears to have just violated a federal conflict-of-interest law by reporting three stock trades several months past a federal deadline, according to a review of his newly filed congressional financial disclosure.

Hagerty reported selling stock in Signature Bank from three of his dependent children's trusts. Together, the sales are worth between $45,000 and $150,000. While the sales were made in December 2021, Hagerty waited until July 2022 to report the trades.

Members of Congress are required to report trades no later than 45 days after making them, according to the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act of 2012. When reporting trades, lawmakers are only required to provide the value of their trades in broad ranges instead of the specific value.

This Republican Senator broke the law. Pelosi disclosed her spouse’s trades on-time as required by law. While I agree that we should consider further controls on members of Congress trading stocks, maybe go after the actual law-breakers first, then talk about changing the law to get those who are following the letter, but whose behavior seems like it might be unfair. At the very least, if members disclose their trades in a timely manner as required by law, we can have an honest discussion.

Maybe. But would you have cut me that level of slack? I seriously doubt it.

And if half of the rest are republicans that would be only 30 percent of the country that’s too stupid to care about trump committing sedition.

But you’re wrong. Gallup says 43 percent.

I would have given you the correct number (as I did above and have many times on many issues). I don’t think anybody would mind if you said “it’s actually 43%” instead of just “you’re wrong."

Lock him up if for no other reason to serve as a deterrent for the next one.

And get rid of this range nonsense. Someone made a trade between $1M -$5M? What kind of BS is that? Give the amount in a much more narrow range.

You realize I made a post once that "a local car dealer had about a third of their normal inventory on their lot" and someone actual asked if I had counted them. And had counted them before.

So maybe I react differently than I should, but it is based on how I am treated.

Why isn’t this actual law-breaker on the front of Fox News? Pelosi’s husband who is getting all the attention doesn’t appear to have broken any laws.

Let’s apply your method on this to Fox instead of CNN and see what happens.

I did a Fox News search for “Bill Hagerty” and here’s what I got:

Yes, an opinion piece written BY Hagerty, about Hunter’s laptop.

I couldn’t have made up this one even if I tried! 😂😂😂

Like I said, last poll I saw was at 39% which was only a month ago. So I wasn't just making up numbers. Seems to be fluid. But it sure isn't 50%.

Party Affiliation.png

When are we going to get more Independents in Congress would be my question. If Independents have over 50% more people than either party individually, why do they vote for someone in a party?

Well, even CNN says the Hunter investigation is progressing. So I will wait to see what comes of it. I do think there will be some egg on the faces of the news media and even some people on here.

A recent poll found that trust in the news media is at 16%. So at worst case, even around 40-50% of Dems don't trust them. What does that say?
