While the point is correct, that’s one suspiciously magical optical microscope that can zoom in that far…. The rest of us use scanning electron microscopes to see transistors.

I think this is the image in question

It is ~40 years old, back when ICs were in the micrometer scale and it actually worked. Today, those gates would be around a thousand times smaller.
