Dark responses to health insurance CEO murder

This is probably the first high profile shooting in years where absolutely nobody is wondering who the shooter voted for and in a way he united the nation. Neat.

Not sure about the shooter, unless I am not up on the latest. The victim however, I would say yeah I think I have a good idea who he voted for.

Not really a dark response, but it fits better here than the general shooting video…

Two days ago a gun expert (Ian McCollum) posted a video that the gun used by the shooter was not a Welrod or a VP9, but rather a malfunctioning semi-auto pistol, probably due to a bad suppressor (especially semi-autos with a Browning tilting barrel can have problems with a suppressor if not set up correctly).

Today CNN post a video with an image of the Welrod (which is an old gun from WW2) and refer to a veterinary gun (which would be the VP9).
EDIT: Correction: The image does seem to show the VP9, but with the trigger guard removed.

I have to admit I stopped the CNN video a few seconds in, because frankly, I trust Ian‘s expertise more than anything you might hear about guns on any news outlet.
EDIT: Ian‘s video on the VP9 to show that he knows what he‘s talking about:

i’m weirdly proud that the shooter has the same backpack as me. Well, I mean, he ditched it, which is a shame, because it’s a very nice backpack, but still. If I was Peak Design, I’d advertise that.

If you think about it, defining success (profit) by how much you can screw your customers out of heath coverage (premiums - pay outs = profit) is a pretty screwed up business model.

And this company became the largest private health insurance by a huge margin sporting the highest denial rate in the business... there is a reason for the "dark" responses.

Wait, what?

The gofundme for his defense fund is going to be insane
If they actually do figure out who he is and manage to catch him. I suspect they are just trying to blow smoke up his ass, in hopes that he will get nervous and make an ostentatious mistake. They really do not know who he is, and he is probably half way to Springfield by now.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Unless Trump makes it much better. He’s going to make it much better and he’s going to do it quickly, as he says. In fact, he’s already moved past the concept of a plan stage and is starting to think about having the rough outlines of a sketch of an idea. By the time he’s “elected” for his fourth term, healthcare will have been made great again.

I’m not comfortable with those cheerleading the murder of someone in a city street. Hopefully, most people are empathizing with how someone could possibly be driven to this point if they suffered a loss because of red tape by insurers, or simply being screwed over. I’ve seen people die due to not being able to afford a drug, and I imagine if that was your parent, spouse, child, etc… you’d be enraged.

But if people think this is going to get better by electing Trump - good luck, you’ll need it.

He had the V1 backpack (I think? Doesn't look like mine, and I have the V2 in that same color). I guess this is a perfectly valid opportunity to upgrade to the V2 :ROFLMAO:

You can get darker than this

but …

(Well, there is the fact that in some circles, the shooter is now known as the "Insurance Adjuster".)

Not comfortable with the anti-hero angle to all of this - but this is a side-effect of corporate greed. We absolutely do have a form of socialism in this country, and it benefits the corporations and wealthy.

I just saw Bashir Al-Assad fled Syria - people can only put up with your crap for so long. That’s a different set of circumstances, but still.

Greed cannot be infinite. It never ends well. Especially when it costs people their lives for no reason. In this country, nobody should have to die because of a lack of money.

cnn is reporting that a suspect has been detained for questioning. It is not clear whether the crowdsourcing for his legal defense will be greater than that for the McD's employee who snitched on the Adjuster (if it is him). Why he would have so much damning evidence on his person is kind of baffling.

Survey of my friends: everyone is willing to represent him pro bono.
