When I was child we used to go to a local farm to pick strawberries. And my Granparents on their farm had a large Concord grape vine growing on a fence that produced terrific tasting fruit, plucked fresh.

Oh, well my dad had an apple orchard and a large garden. I used to have to sell strawberries door to door. Man I hated that. At least when he sold apples the people came to us.

My grandparents had a small orchard as well...the elderberry bushes were at the back of the farm by the railway tracks and the pond. Grandma's elderberry-apple pie is still my favourite...need to find a source for elderberries one of these days to see if I can't recreate that.
