I'm contemplating a photography project that will be in the form of a custom made box and a dozen photographs. The photographs will be ink jet printed on thick 200 GSM Washi paper with the expectation they'll be routinely handled by people owning the photo box.

Does anyone here have and direct experience with spray coatings to protect photographs from handling? I'm looking at various products such as Moab Desert Varnish, Grumbacher Varnish Spray, Krylon Gallery Series Clear Coating, and Golden Archival Varnish. There are probably others out there. I'm not expecting perfection from the spray as the photos and box will likely wear a bit with time - kind of a Wabi Sabi thing.

The photo below is a prototype from a dozen+ years ago. I'm thinking about increasing the dimensions (box and photos) by 50%.
