Ours are both black, where we show our solidarity with BLM.ugh. my wife pointed out this morning that our three BMWs are red, white and blue.
Now I feel all patriotic and shit.
Depends on whether you are Dutch or not!ugh. my wife pointed out this morning that our three BMWs are red, white and blue.

What!? I got no such prompt on my little i4, probably cause I got a base model. The iX installed a new “happy halloween” app and prompted me to run it. It plays a cute little halloween movie. At one point there’s some rumbling, and the seat backs actually rumble to match the video. Neat.
My wife didn’t get it either. What!? I got no such prompt on my little i4, probably cause I got a base model.![]()

Talked to a BMW corporate person. Announcement will be before end of November 2025. Adapter will be for sale at BMW dealers. If all going according to plan, we should get access to SuperCharger in December 2025.
Announcement will be on https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/usa and also will pushed in the BMW app.
I haven’t even charged once at Electrify America, but I’d consider an adapter for emergency road trips. My iX has so much more range than my old model s that i may never use DC-DC.Saw this post on the BMW iForums:
I mean, f*** Tesla, but sure, I'll take another (huge) number of DCFC charger on the if/when we might need one![]()
I’ve got a lectron adapter (solidly built thing) and am looking forward to the update. I’ll probably never use it, but nice to know that I could.

yeah, they’re good too. Lectron appears to be rebadged and used by some other car companies as well (and i think ford and GM point customers at them). I’d stick to a2z or lectron and you’d be fine. I’d definitely avoid the long list of random-letter Chinese knockoffs on amazon.I did hear/read on a much earlier BMW corporate email announcement, something about BMW saying specifically not to use 3rd party adapters. Now, of course we know that's bunk, but I suppose if there was some kind of catastrophic issue and you used a 3rd party, they could be "less friendly" over the repair service.
If I went 3rd party, these folks are fantastic (and some "other brands" have had issues):

I use their NACS_to_J1772 adapter, nice beefy construction, locks, case, supports up to 80a. I'd buy their NACS_to_CCS adapter in a heartbeat, but I guess I'll wait and see what the action is with BMW's.
No, should be able to charge at full speedIs it safe to assume the native CCS charging is faster than the NACS charging?
