Two updates here:
First, excellent news, this guy was worthless.
Chesa Boudin says he won’t run this year to be D.A. in S.F. again
Former San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin said would not run for reelection this year, saying he would instead take time with his family.www.sfchronicle.com
Second, new DA isn't messing around.
Targeting fentanyl dealers, new S.F. D.A. to revoke plea offers in drug crimes made under Boudin
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins is pulling back over 30 plea deal offers she deemed too lenient for defendants accused of selling fentanyl.www.sfchronicle.com
This is the kind of thing they've been letting people get away with.
Her first action as DA was to fire the attorney in charge of investigating wrongful convictions. She also fired lawyers in charge of investigating police misconduct. Seems like she’ll be popular with the “Back the Blue” contingent.
Brooke Jenkins makes wave of firings. Progressives call it 'terrifying.'
New San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins fired at least 15 people in her office on Friday, with one in particular prompting an outcry from onlookers.

She also is proposing that the police be entitled to private camera footage of citizens and businesses.

But I’m sure in 2022, her “tough on crime” policies will finally win the war on drugs, right? All it will cost is the privacy of citizens, impunity for brutal police officers, and some innocent people doing jail time.
