The recall of Chesa Boudin and the failure of progressive criminal justice reform

Two updates here:

First, excellent news, this guy was worthless.

Second, new DA isn't messing around.

This is the kind of thing they've been letting people get away with.

Her first action as DA was to fire the attorney in charge of investigating wrongful convictions. She also fired lawyers in charge of investigating police misconduct. Seems like she’ll be popular with the “Back the Blue” contingent.


She also is proposing that the police be entitled to private camera footage of citizens and businesses.


But I’m sure in 2022, her “tough on crime” policies will finally win the war on drugs, right? All it will cost is the privacy of citizens, impunity for brutal police officers, and some innocent people doing jail time.

Yep, good thing you don't live here so you don't have to deal with any of it, plus it allows you to sit there from behind your device smugly criticizing while people here keep dying from fentanyl overdoses. Question, is there anything you won't totally just shit all over?
