The ancient Israelis had the right idea
To be honest, I’m not sure what you mean by this. Maybe I’m missing something, but it’s a bit odd to refer to a modern statue this way?

The subject of the statue is the story of Judith and Holofernes, as told in an old testament book that is usually found in catholic but not protestant bibles (and also on a spaghetti sauce label). To be honest, I’m not sure what you mean by this. This seems to be a pretty common practise in statutes, the modesty standard, that includes strategically placed fig leaves.I don't know what is weirder, the fact that there is a lot of anatomical representation in this piece, e.g. tendons, bone structure, kneecaps. However it seems to be missing something... Or is it weirder that I zoomed in to check?

Yeah, I guess I failed to notice the snakes. Sorry. The statue is "Medusa with the Head of Perseus". The snake hair kinda gives it away, and is why I was confused.
I thought those were stylized chiseled hair…Yeah, I guess I failed to notice the snakes. Sorry.
