The Trump Indictment Thread

So... if you didn't see Rachel Maddow last night (Yes, she can be quite a talker), you should review this 7 minute and something clip of the story she did behind the Mr. Hankey and Axos bank.

Yeah, I watched that. Hankey and his cronies are sure upstanding citizens who would love to see Trump back in the WH.

yep another sleazeball trump is friends with. amazing that such a good christian seems to know so many of those types.

Allen Weisselberg is headed back to prison. Here's one Trump associate with two separate sentences for crimes.

Let's face it, Trump is running a criminal enterprise. That's not hyperbolic. How many of your close friends, family and associates have been indicted, convicted and/or plead guilty and sent to jail or prison?

Who is the common denominator in all of it?

I’m going to put it out there that maybe at least partially Cannon is a coward who doesn’t want to be the target of violent MAGA ruling over the most slam dunk political case against Trump. I don’t mean politically motivated. I mean MAGA couldn’t give less of a shit about his cases dealing with business or his treatment of women. They’re fine with his behavior there. When it comes to the cases dealing with his illegal political activities they see it as direct deep state election interference. Cannon would probably prefer to not be the first case to drop that hammer.

he must have developed some buddies and missed them.

Good article describing how there is definitely a two-tiered justice system (maybe three or four tiered). What he gets wrong is that he’s the one on the better tier.
———

A firebrand politician named Donald is about to stand trial. Just a few days before jury selection, he goes on TV to slam the charges as baseless and biased.

“The FBI and the Justice Department,” he insists, have “targeted” their political opponents in a burst of partisan persecution.

The rhetoric sounds familiar, but this is not a story about Donald Trump. It’s about a man named Don Hill, a former Dallas City Council member who was facing bribery charges 15 years ago.

The telltale clue that this isn’t about Trump is what happened next: The judge, upset by the attempt to taint the jury pool, slapped the politician-turned-defendant with criminal contempt and ultimately sentenced him to 30 days in jail for violating a gag order.

Trump just violated the gag order by bad-mouthing a witness in the case that starts this week. I won’t bother repeating it or linking to it.

Good chance he spends the trial in a jail cell.
From your lips to God’s ears.

If the judge doesn’t address the gag order violation, that will be a shame and prove the two-tiered justice system that Trump correctly states exists but lies about not benefiting from it. If he’s not sent to Rikers for a couple of days to think about it, we’re already seeing injustice.

Also, Qusay seems to be just as delusional as his idiotic old man. “My father built the skyline.”

Uh, no… no he did not. The f*****g egos on these idiots are breathtaking.

My father built NYC skyline and this is his thanks

Trump is in court this morning. The prosecutors don't seem to be leaving any stone unturned, and indeed, have already told Judge Merchan they think Trump violated the gag order by referring to Cohen and Daniels on his shitty cult social platform.

Trump is in a different world right now, and the mentions in the live updates imply his demeanor is showing it.

More violations awarded with more free time.

Judge gives Trump's lawyers 24 hours to identify what exhibits they intend to use at the trial

The judge is giving Donald Trump's lawyers 24 hours to identify what exhibits they intend to use at the trial, after prosecutors allege they have stalled in providing prosecutors with the documents they want to use in their case.
"You have 24 hours," the judge said, telling Trump's team they are already in violation of an order he gave two months ago.
Trump just tapped his attorney Todd Blanche on the shoulder, leaned toward him and they are actively talking

Apparently, Judge Merchan has delayed ruling on whether to fine Trump for violating the gag order, so the most we can expect is a meaningless financial penalty. What would it take for Trump to be jailed, as anyone else in his position would be? Does he have to actively call for the judge or one of the witnesses to be attacked? What would happen if Trump posted the above on his platform?

Actually, a fine would be typical for a first offense.
